ReFrame holds the annual event at the end of January in downtown Nogojiwanong (Peterborough). The focus of the films shown is on social justice, human rights and environmental responsibility. The success of the film festival is accomplished through connections and alliances between audiences, film makers and artists, community partners, and neighbours.
The undertaking and commitment to the ReFrame Mission is accomplished
through:
- a community film festival;
- educational programs for children and youth;
- art exhibitions, installations and performances;
- an international food marketing showcasing the tastes of Peterborough.

An event like this cannot take place without dedicated volunteers. Over 200 volunteers contribute their time and energy to make the ReFrame Film Festival a success.
Festival Volunteers help out with things like:
- Ushering guests to their seats
- Selling tickets/checking passes
- Helping with bussing tables, dishwashing and vendor support at the ReFrame Food Market
- Surveying attendees and collecting data
- Setting up/tearing down event spaces
