Snofest is coming to Peterborough again from January 20th to the 26th.

Someone in your family may remember way back to 1976 when the first Snofest was held thanks to ParticipAction.

ParticipACTION is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage Canadians to sit less and move more. Peterborough took the challenge and has held the annual Snofest ever since.

Cheer on the Peterborough Petes Hockey Team This Weekend As They Play North Bay!

Catch all of the excitement of watching the team in their maroon and white home jerseys. If you are new to the area you might not know the Petes have produced many NHL players over the years. In fact, they have produced more National Hockey League players (150+) than any other junior team in the world. That is an amazing record.

Notable alumni include Zack Kassian, Zach Bogosian, Eric & Jordan Staal, Chris Pronger, Steve Yzerman, Bob Gainey, Mike Ricci, and Tie Domi. The franchise has also been home to notable coaches/managers including Scotty Bowman, Roger Neilson, Mike Keenan, Gary Green, and Dick Todd. Dick recorded 500 career victories faster than any other coach in Major Junior A hockey, accomplishing the milestone in just 813 games.

Many loyal fans claim that the hockey team has put Peterborough on the map – giving the city a claim to fame within the hockey world. The Petes are nine-time OHL Champions, have the most Memorial Cup appearances for a franchise (8), and the most Memorial Cup final game appearances (6), both CHL records. The Peterborough Petes won the Memorial Cup Championship in 1979 and the city hosted the Memorial Cup tournament in 1996. It was a great event as the franchise was celebrating its 40th anniversary in the league.
