Chances are you have been at least once to the annual Peterborough Snofest. But did you know the history?
Snofest goes all the way back to 1976 when the province of Ontario had a big push on to encourage everyone to get more active – the promotion was called ParticipACTION!
ParticipACTION came to Peterborough to support a pilot project to help get people more active in the wintertime. And the first Peterborough Snofest was created! The Festival started off as a one day Carnival and has now evolved into a whole month of events.
So if you have been to Snofest once, twice or never…2018 is your year to enjoy all the fun! You can download the whole calendar at http://www.peterboroughsnofest.ca/Assets/Snofest/Documents/Snofest+Brochure.pdf.

Experience the thrill of the Birds of Prey display, followed by a sleigh ride. Hungry? How about testing a bowl or two of chili at that Snofest Chili Contest. With a full tummy you can head over to the Amazing Race Youth, followed by a Spaghetti Supper!
The brochure has all the times and locations for everything happening during Snofest 2018. Events are spread over 27 locations in the city. Remember Carnival Day is January 20th, but Snofest takes place almost every day in January, all the way until January 29th.
And the best part, besides all of the family friendly activities? It’s free! See you there!
